The control panel includes PLC, HMI, drives and temperature controllers. The temperature of each heating zone is displayed and controlled from the HMI.
This is a complete upgrade of PLC (S5 to S7-1500), HMI (text display to TP1200), DC drives (Simoreg to Parker 590P) and annealing controller (Sitor to Spang). The project included electrical installation and commissioning.
The old relay-based hardwired control was replaced with a modern system using a Siemens S7-1200 PLC, KTP700 touch-screen HMI, Parker AC10 inverter, and Euntay 24VDC tension controller.
The new control offers:
Overall, the upgrade improved operational accuracy, ease of use, and reliability of production.
Electrical installation and commissioning of a new 1250mm Single Twist cabling machine in behalf of Setic.
We replaced the outdated Siemens S7-200 control system with the latest Siemens S7-1200 PLCs and touch-screen HMIs communicating via IWLAN. The previous system suffered from unsynchronized operation, inaccurate lay, limited traverse control, and password-protected programs that prevented troubleshooting.
Using Siemens TIA Portal V14, we developed a new program following European standards, integrating a common ramp generator for precise synchronization. After fine-tuning the VFDs, the upgraded system achieved smooth starting and stopping, accurate lay control, and flexible pitch adjustment for different cable sizes.
Upgrade from Siemens S5 to Siemens S7-1500. Line synchronization is all done in the PLC thus all the analog synchronization boards were eliminated. A touch screen HMI is also installed to replace the OP text display.
The program has been designed to accommodate the different gear setting of the take-up reel drive, reel sizes 1600 and 2400, and the diameter control to maintain the line speed from empty to full reel.
